Seriously, it’s hard to believe that it’s 2018 already. It sounds cliché to say, but time really flew this year. Maybe it’s a matter of getting older, that each year starts to blend together and makes it difficult to distinguish where one ends and the other begins. In any case, plenty of things have happened in 2017– the good, the bad, and the in-between.

It’s finally 2018!
As we head into a new year, we’re leaving another behind. Another 365 days are past us, and many of us are eager to wipe away past mistakes and start anew. With the first day of 2018 done, there’s plenty of optimism with the remaining 364 days to come.

As of Thursday last week, I’ve officially finished my first semester of teaching as a lectrice d’anglais in France. Crazy to believe just how it has flown by– cliché as it sounds, it seemed like just yesterday I was starting my first day at the university and now I’m here with no more classes to teach until the following semester. While it hasn’t been easy these past couple of months, I’d say that it has turned out for the better.

As I’m writing this, it has been almost a month since I arrived in France to begin my third consecutive year abroad (but my first year as a lectrice d’anglais). So much has happened in this past month– from finding a place to live to dealing with French administration, I can’t believe how I got through it unscathed, let alone so smoothly (really!).

Bonjour, tout le monde!
I admit, it’s been over three months since my last “Life Update” post— in fact, I haven’t updated since returning to the United States after my second year of TAPIF, and here I am, about to head back to France once more! Really, where did the time go? I can’t complain, though…while I had a great summer, I’m also excited to return abroad.
